Though this doesn't give an impressive AF for a 2" EP it's an improvement over the typical 1.25" 40mm.

Until the recent proliferation of low-priced 2" EPs coming on the market [mostly from china?] this EP was just about the only way to go on a tight budget but probably is going to be superceded by the new 'imports'. If it can be had on a good ebay deal it's still the way to go for us 'poor folk' that want more AF than a 1.25" 40mm plossl will provide.

Very well made and lightweight [due to Gary's ingenius use of materials].

Russell Optics 40mm

Used on a 8" f7 Discovery Dob.
Beats all other 40mm plossol's easily and only $65.
clear with pinpoint stars and no distortion.
