Description:	This is a series 4000 Meade Super Plossl set in a 2" Delrin barrel. The barrel is threaded for 2" filters. It has a fold down rubber eyeguard. This material is lightweight and makes holding the eyepiece in cold weather much easier than the chrome barrels.

I tested this eyepiece in my 8" f10 SCT. It is sharp to the edge of the field. I mean pinpoint sharp even at the edge. The delrin material is lightweight and lessens the effect of cold weather on your hands compared to the chrome barrel eyepieces. My filters thread in perfectly. It has a nice rubber eyeguard that folds down. I prefer it in the down position, because it makes it easier to view at the edge of the field. It is a little easier to take in the entire field.

The eye relief is fine and not excessive. The eyepiece has good contrast and the field is flat.

There are many other eyepieces of 30 to 32 mm that have wider fields, greater weight, and higher cost. The truth is that many of these eyepieces are not truly sharp in the extra field they provide beyond the field of this eyepiece. The ones that are tend to suffer a loss of central field sharpness in order to get the huge field with good edge correction.

I am more than delighted with this unit and will gladly purchase other eyepieces from Gary Russell if and when the need arises.
