Easiler the best newtonian system i have used.
close startesting indicated a 1/10 wavefront error
with a very smooth surface.
This was later confirmed by null test with autocollimation.
Ronchi bands straight edge to edge as promised by Parks
and very smooth.
Images on Jupiter were sharp and full of contrast.
Comparable to 6 inch Apo.
Startests revealed similar images either side of focus
and once agian confirmed quality of optics.

I have observed through hundreds of Newtonians in my
23 years of observing, and I can say I haven't see a better
scopes optically with the possible exclusion of a Takahashi
6 inch f6.3 Newtonian I used 3 months ago.

I very good scope mechanically and optically as good as a
obstructed newtonian gets.

PUT YOUR APO'S DOWN. I own a genesis 101 from televue and a Vixen made 140mm
Neo Achromatic f/6. Since I purchased the parks 8Inch Superior, Niether one of my refractors have come out of the closet. I went with the tube assy only which I mount on a custom made atl/az mount made of ash and high grade aluminum in the fashion of a cradle type design, 1 1/2 inch bolts and heavy, full width teflon washers. Being an Eight inch at f6 it is very manageable. Parks attention to quality is astounding. I have star tested singles doubles snd find crisp seperation at 250x + many of the most popular targets. With my 40mm Meade superwide I believe I honestly see 2.25 deg of the brightest star field perfectly defined to the very edge.Saturn, venus, and jupitor with its transit activity all remain clearly resolved at 350x on nights of good seeing. with the lumicon beta filter nebular structure is breath-taking. Pleades, the crab north america, all very clearly resolved. Although parks will not commit to a wave factor in primary mirror quality. I see cantrast and resolution that compares or surpasses certified 1/10th wave glass on the market. At f/6 the secondary mirror is not an issue in dark skies. I have tried felt and ultra flat on other reflectors that i have owned , I believe the key to contrast with this unit is the ultraflat textured fibreglass interior. Ambient light is a non issue. Obviously PARKS is a well kept secret. Well worth the money for a do-all medium aperature unit. My Vote 11+.

My Parks 8" has good optics. The focuser is mounted poorly. I'll have to move it to get good collimation. The real problem is the inside of the tube, its shedding fiberglass fibers like a cat onto the primary as well as paint flecks. Its less than a year old. I'm thinking about removing the optics and mech parts and coating the inside with something that will seal it and then repainting the inside of OTA. Otherwise the scope is fine.

I looked throught a parks 8 inch f6 at our local starbacue
Great optics which more than make up for it's short falls mechanically
The startest indicated optics as good as 1/10 at the wavefront
Jupiter was very sharp and the contrast was excellent.
Could make out detail inside the red spot at 460x.
I don't know much about Parks here in New zealand
other than this little scope blew away all the other ones that
night of similar size (I stress similar size)
If not the best 8 inch newt Ive looked through, it would be in the top
3.
Am now looking at buying Parks optics.

I once owned a homemade Dobsonian with a Parks 8 inch f-6 mirror with enhanced coatings. I Couder tested the mirror. It consistently showed better than 1/8 th wave spherical aberration and a beautiful smooth wavefront. Easily the best Newtonian mirror I've viewed in.
