Description: | A mostly unrecognized eyepiece of outstanding optical and mechanical quality at a very reasonable price.
In a comparison with a Vernonscope Brandon 24mm ocular the Parks 25mm Kellner was the hands down winner. Slightly wider field of view than the Brandon (I think the Parks advertised field of 40 degrees is somewhat conservative), stars were sharp to the edge of the field whereas they started to get mushy in the Brandon at about 90% out, the Parks Kellner showed stars in the field approximately one magnitude fainter than the Brandon, and the background sky was definitely darker in the Parks Kellner.
I picked my Parks 25mm Kellner up used in like new condition in the box for $35 postage paid. I was so impressed with it that I ordered the companion Parks 6mm & 12mm Keller eyepieces new from Scope City. |
