Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
I bought a pair of these for a binoviewer and they perform nicely. They are sharp across the field and to the edge. Eye-relief is good, and there are no blackouts. Contrast is good. These are easy to use unlike Radians that require accurate eye positioning. Newbies (kids looking through your scope for the first time) will love them. I rated them a 9 for optics because they are not as sharp as a Pentax XL, but they do come close. These are excellent value, and IMO they should get more attention for their value and overall performance.

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
Very sharp eyepiece. This eyepiece is easy to use... the eye relief is pretty decent for someone who doesn't wear glasses. There are no blackout issues. A very sharp, nice, cool toned eyepiece.

Looks tack sharp edge to edge in my 8" f-5.9, better than a standard 4 element plossl.

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
This was my first EP upgrade from standard plossils. I now have a nagler and 2 Panoptics and I still use my 15mm Ultrascopic. For high power viewing I put it in a 5X Tele Vue powermate and it gives awesome high power views with great detail and contrast. Nice black background and tight stars. I also have an Ortho from University optics and I "think" I can detect that the UO Ortho has slightly better contrast and sharpness but they are very close to each other. The Ultrascopic has great eye relief and is effortless to view through. You wont be disappointed. A very good EP. I wish I could give it a 9.5 but will give it a 9.... its not quite a 10, but close....

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
excellent eyepiece, sharp and clear views to the edge. the price cannot be beat, these eyepieces provide views as good and sometimes better than other more expensive eyepieces. highly recommended.

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
A great eyepiece. Every bit equal to the Tele Vue 15mm Plossel. Good edge sharpness. Coatings are first rate though build feels a little cheaper than Tele Vues. Highly recommended.

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
Good eye relief, adequately bright. Compares well with a typical Plossl such as the Meade 3000 16mm, but the latter is slightly sharper - both used with a 5"SCT during comparison. The Meade unit is a better bargain for the noted performance.

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
Good performer for the price. To correct previous review, this lense only has 5 elements. Only the 5.0mm and 3.8mm of this series are 7 element designs. Improved sharpness at edge of field, even with a modest 90mm apo-refractor.

Orion Ultrascopic 15mm
Very nice eyepiece. I have had this for about 2 weeks and love it. Very good
views and sharp. I didn't notice any dimming from the 7 elements as compared
to a 4 or 5 element plossl. Great eyepiece for the price of $79 dollars.
