Orion Ultrascopic 10mm
Picked this up at that auction site for a very nice price but am more impressed with the views. I have other Ultima-type eyepieces at different focal lengths but this just might be the best of the bunch. Provides sharp, bright images with excellent contrast. In fact I see very little difference between this one and a 9mm Pentax ortho I own, (except the Ultrascopic has a bigger fov). Now I'm tempted to get the 7.5mm.

Stars are sharp virtually to the edge in scopes from F8 to F5. Eye relief is acceptable, (I don't wear eyeglasses at the eyepiece). I find myself looking forward to objects that can take this power just so I can enjoy the eyepiece! Highly recommended.
Mike

I acquired one of these eyepieces used (and cheap) and I've been quite pleased with it. I had been planning to buy a new Barlow lens so I could get better views of Jupiter but after dropping this eyepiece in I see that the problem isn't the Barlow but rather the quality of the Meade Series 3000 9.5mm Plossl I had been using. The 10mm Ultrascopic blows it away, the images are much crisper and the contrast is dramatically improved.

I have been impressed enough to start selling off my old Series 3000 Plossls and replace them with Ultrascopics. I got this first one cheap but the performance is good enough that I don't mind paying full price to pick up a few more.

Have used these eyepieces on the planets. They showed Saturn very nicely at 575X

Orion Ultrascopic 10mm
Not a bad eyepiece for the price. Is fairly sharp to the edge, although its
apparent field (which I measured) comes out to only about 49 degrees.

I replaced a 10mm plossl with this eyepiece. The difference viewing jupiter was amazing. Also increased filter performance due to more efficient light transmission. Great eyepiece for the money.

All I have to say is sharpness and contrast. This EP delivers both on almost any subject. Good Value.

Optical performance typical of Ultima series eyepieces: superb! Tight eye relief but still usable. Excellent high power planetary eyepiece.
