Description:High-Quality Binoculars at a Remarkably Reasonable Price
br>Orion's Scenix binoculars offer the superior optical and mechanical quality you expect in more expensive binoculars but at prices nearer to those of lesser-quality department stores brands. The Scenix series incorporate porro prisms made from BAK-4 optical glass, the same type found in binoculars that sell for many times the price. Moreover, every air-to-glass surface is antireflection coated. The objective lenses are multi-coated for maximum light transmission.

The housings are constructed of sturdy metal, and armored with protective rubber. All include a vinyl carrying case, lens caps, deluxe wide neck strap, and accept a tripod L-adapter. Four models: 8x40, 7x50, 10x50 and 12x50. Two-year limited warranty.

Scenix 8x40 Wide Angle
Ideal nature and sports binocular with an uncommonly wide 9° field of view to take in more of the action. Close focuses to 17'. Weighs 24 oz.

Scenix 7x50
Wonderful for binocular astronomy as well as for scenic daytime viewing and hunting. Bright 7mm exit pupil and 7.1° field of view. Weighs 28 oz.

Scenix 10x50 Wide Angle
Perfect higher-power astro binocular, equally well suited for long-distance terrestrial observing. Extra wide angle 7° field. Weighs 28 oz.

Scenix 12x50 Wide Angle
If you¼ve been searching for a high-power quality binocular that's incredibly affordable, here it is! Twelve-times magnification gets you “up close and personal” with your viewing target. Still, the exit pupil is a generous 4mm-plus, so the images will be plenty bright. Wide 6° field of view. At this high power, a tripod (and mounting adapter) is recommended for steady images. Weighs 28 oz.

Orion Scenix 8x40
These things gather more light than my 10x50 bushnell glasses and are significantly lighter as well. Has some plastic in the construction but seem very sturdy. Andromeda galaxy show great extension for 8x glasses (not to mention 40mm arpeture...)

Sure I'll probably want a better set someday but for now these are perfect...

Orion Scenix 8x40
I'd actually rate these an 8.5, but what can one do? For the money, WOW! I love taking these with me travelling. The 9 degree FOV just fits the constellation of Lyra! Very nice. I get more flaring than my Orion MG 9x63s, but the wider field makes up for it. A great grab-n-go binocular, with lots of uses. No chromatic problems even in bright light conditions, and for a WA type, surprisingly low degree of scatter in them. Very functional depth of field, too!

The Moon shows a touch of ghosting when full, but it is very subdued and not really objectionable given the price point. I have done solar viewing with these and find them quite nice - these would be great eclipse binos due to the field... Jupiter and Galileans are clean in them, save a touch of flaring on Jupiter off-axis. Mars, same. Venus, some flaring. I can just make out Saturn with "ears" in them. Considering the level of MC and objective diameter, I was amazed at the degree of light transmission in this pair. Amazingly functional for astronomy, and easy to hold at 8x when not tripod mounted.

A very economical and fabulous offering by Orion! A great starter binocular!
