Great for the price. If binocular stargazing is your prefered method then don't get these. For casual stargazing to compliment a scope is where these excel. Bright views. 10x power is at limit for handheld binos. Took these to a dark sight w/tripod and views of Double Cluster and Andromeda were stunning. Andromeda looked better through these than in my 8" in my light polluted driveway. Recommended.

Excellent value! An expansive 7.0 degree fov. Bought them for use in my light polluted suburban backyard. Easily picked out several globuar clusters distict from the surronding stars. They are now my most used binos, even more so than my (mid-eighties vintage) Meade 11x80s. Optics rate an 9 only because collimation is not 100% dead-on, but well within acceptable limits (this is my biggest beef regarding binos) especially for the price. Recommended.

Good overall performance, especially for the low cost. Weakest point is the eyepieces, they do not hold focus out to the edge of the field.

A 30mm objective and a 3mm exit pupil add up to marginal astronomical usability under the best circumstances. A tripod and a good mount coupled with aperture and decent optics would be far more satisfying. IMHO.

What do you mean 30mm objective? This bino does not come in that size...

I have to disagree with the previous post that states: "the only roof prism bino's suitable for astronomy are made by companies like Zeiss and Swarovski and start at $1300". Check out Canon's 10x30 Image-Stabalized roof prisms that perform like 10x50's and sell as low at $350.

I bought a pair of these binoculars so my wife and I wouldn't have to take turns with the 8x56 Mini-Giants. I should have bought another pair of Minis. The Scenix are toylike in every way except construction. They are only sharp in the center, the edges are always blurry. Do yourself a big favor and buy the Mini-Giants. Scenix are porro prism not roof. The only roof prism binos suitable for astronomy are made by companies like Zeiss and Swarovski and they start at $1300.

Nice bright clear images to the edges. Easy to focus. Plenty focal relief, can use without my glasses (very nearsighted), some binoculars I have used do not come to focus.

These are NOT clear out to the edges, that is the biggest problem with these binoculars. They are well built and provide good overall usage but be aware the wide field is only sharp part way out.
