Orion Explorer II 10mm
Can't believe that people are putting this inexpensive EP down! This is a sharp EP in both Newt and refractor scopes. Has plenty of contrast, as well. Try the 10 mm on the Moon! The moon dust looks real. Can't say that for other EPs I've used.

Ordered this EP, tried it and promptly returned it! Can't believe this is a 50 degree EP, It was like peeking thru a keyhole. Wanted an inexpensive 10mm but this one is unacceptable.

This eyepiece came with my Orion 8 inch Dob. All I remember was I did not like it. In fact the first replacement eyepiece I purchased was a Meade 3000 Plossl.

This, along with the 25 mm, make up the kellner end of the explorer 2 line of eyepieces. This is the best kellner I have ever used, with flat field, good sharpness/brightness, and vey little chromatic distortion. Good moderately high power eyepiece.

I have to disagree with the last opinion. As one of my very first eyepiece purchases, I can say that this is a more satisfying cheapie EP than say for example the Meade MA9. The Orion has lots of glass, I "guesstimate" 50 degree APOV, and the full width field stop does not choke the actual FOV down like the Meade does (I like Meade eyepieces in general, but the standard MA9 is an atrocity). The Orion is also sharp nearly to the edge in my f6 dob. All in all, you can do much worse for a budget 10mm EP.
