Orion Epic ED-2 9.5mm
My first entry into the system! :-)

Overall, I think this is a very nice eyepiece. I know it's not an upscale unit such as a Pentax, Televue, or whatever but I don't think Orion ever intended them to be as such. Taking advantage of cheap Chinese labor, they are able to mass produce a decent quality eyepiece at an affordable price. Call it the poor man's upscale eyepiece if you will.

I used this eyepiece on an Orion XT4.5 and XT10. Compared to the stock 9mm and 10mm Plossl eyepieces, these work like a dream come true. There is plenty of eye relief and the image has more contrast and brightness. Sometimes the image black out if your eye is not in the right position but it's pretty easy to get used to that and find the right position.

The long eye relief and large FOV make it more comfortable and enjoyable than a comparable Plossl, but at a Plossl kind of price. The image is less sharp and has less contrast than my 10mm Radian, with some chromatic aberration, especially near the egde of field.

Visual use only, although webcam use possible. Not as impressive as advertised but relief better than Plossls.
