Of the 50-55mm eyepieces available on the market, the Omcon 52 mm Erfle provides the best view at the best value! This is based on a "side-by-side" testing of this eyepiece and a Televue 55mm Plossl on different telescopes (including a 6" f/8 Newtonian right as well as 16" f/4.5 or f/5 Newtonians). Even on the the large aperature rich-field scopes, the quality of the edge-of-field views in the two eyepieces were equivalent.

Omcon Erfle 52mm

I agree with the previous posts, this eyepiece is an excellent value and works well from f/6 to f/10. There is plenty of eye relief for folks who wear glasses, and the only defect I noticed is slight astigmatism and some coma at the edge of the field in an f/6 scope.

Omcon Erfle 52mm

Gives just about exactly a 1 degree fov on my Celestron C-9.25. Large, weighty eyepiece.
