Not too sure about the price in $US but In the past this scope has sold for around $850+ Canadian (where they are/were made). A great DSO scope for dark skies. Some coma on bright stars at first but good star sharpness when properly collimated. I got mine used on an EQ2 mount - mount was too light (the tube is rolled steel) so now have it on an EQ4 - very sturdy. Fantastic, bright, wide field views. Can fit entire double cluster in with a 25mm 1.25" eyepiece (2 degrees), also the entire Pleides - counted nearly 80 stars, colors very true too - wow! Parabolic 6" mirror. Surprisingly sharp on Jupiter and Saturn for an f5 - no problen seeing the red spot or Cassini's division (compared well to a 4" f10 refractor). On one particular night of good seeing at 180x, I was able to see the rim of lighter atmosphere surrounding the red spot and a few festoons too (at opposition). Very smooth 1.25" focus. My only complaint is that the spider is a bit on the chunky side and that performance might be improved with a thinner one. The scope has a bit of an industrial look compared to newer f5 newts but the views are great.
