I purchased this scope June 2007.It,s been almost 4 yrs I have been enjoying the views. What a scope it is .It,s big but I view from my mag 5 backyard so it gets used a lot.I am over 2500 objects found in the time I have had it.You need a ladder but do not have to climb to high to get to the ep.Crisp coma free views.Every thing from planets to dso,s are there for the viewing. When the seeing is good it shows the planets as good as any apo out there. In my humble opinion this is one of the best all around scopes on the market. With this scope you have it all.

I have owned 4 Obsessions - two 25"ers (one with Galaxy and the other Pegasus, both f/5's) and two 20"ers (one Nova and the other OMI-Torus, both f/5's). I have enjoyed each one of them. The 20" is an optimal size for portability and ease of set-up and ladder. Obsession holds its value exceptionally well and Dave K is a pleasure to deal with. Randy Rogers

This scope moves like a dream - a neurosurgeon friend of mine compared it favorably to his operating room microscope. For visual use it is very nice, but does require the use of a ladder. Looks nice. With a scope of this size from a good dark sky site many DSO's are possible. Excellent for PN and GC. I have a galaxy mirror and am happy with it.

I have owned 2 Obsessions: a 20" f/5 with Nova primary and now a 25" f/5 with Galaxy mirror. Both are quality telescopes and worked to my expectations. Kriege always responds to my questions and replacement parts requests. I would recommend doing business with him. The Feathertouch focuser on the 25" is exceptional. I've heard that the Protostar spider is the way to go, but haven't seen one myself. I've had 2 Novaks.

Have had my 20" two years and am continually pleased and amazed by its performance. From the pleasurable purchasing experience with Obsession's knowledgeable and friendly owner David Kriege, to ontime delivery, everything was as promised. After sales support is excellent as well.

Exceptional attention to quality is visable throughout. The finish is as beautiful today as when I first received it. Kriege's design has overcome the problems of Dobson construction. Importantly, he takes no shortcuts. Everything is accomplished with top grade hardware and the finest materials. You can see it and feel it! Assembly and moving is quick and intuitive.
The primary (and secondary) was custom made by John Hudek of Galaxy and performs beautifully! Startests are text book perfect. I especially would recommend his product. With these large optics, obscurring the secondary spider results in images that rival the finest refractors (Tak and APh)in side by side star party testing. People are always amazed.

The smoothness of movement is a dream. Balance is exact. This is my 4th Dob in over 20 years of viewing and I am most pleased. The Obsession scope is a top quality instrument that has been worth the investment to me.

Also......Large scopes require large ladders. Invest in a quality safe model from the start. You will be spending lots of time up in the air so go first class on a ladder.

Optically the telescope is very, very good. However the scope does not hold collimation well when store assembled and the sling holding the mirror needs frequent adjustment. The beautiful original finish also did not hold up very well when exposed to long-tern storage in a well-ventilated shed.
