Oberwerk Mariner 10 X 60
I had to do some very light collimating (called Kevin for advice at bigbinoculars.com), but other than this, I've been VERY impressed with these. I bought a sample mariner model with slightly different magnification (8x60) from bigbinoculars.com, but these are identical to the 10x60s in other respects. These are solidly built, and I've been confident in taking them out into the woods day or night. I've been using them most for scanning the Milky Way (beautiful views, and just small enough for comfortable hand-held viewing). These are a super value; the multi-coating was good, and the clarity of view is excellent. Daytime viewing is flawless, and nighttime viewing shows very slight lack of focus on far edge of Field of view, and very slight false color/glare on very bright objects like Jupiter. Star fields are nice. Negatives might include a crude right ocular diopter adjustment, and cheap plastic cover for (nice) brass tripod adapter. I have been very pleased with these binoculars, and would buy them again.

I forgot to add a couple of features I've particularly enjoyed: the twist eyecups are very convenient, and the large eye-relief and large optics size make extended viewing very comfortable, even when sharing with glasses wearers. No "kidney-bean" effect or blackouts in the eyepiece when the eyecups are extended. --Keith
