Nikon Travelite 9x25 V
Very lightweight and compact, offering excellent optics at a reasonable price. Sharp, bright images with very little edge softness. Suitable for any daytime activity or night use at a sporting event with lighting. Comfortable to hold or wear around the neck, these are a fine go-anywhere binocular good for any use but astronomy. Eye relief is a little short for eyeglass wearers, though.

Nikon Travelite 9x25 V
I love these binoculars. They are extremely light and fit perfectly in my hands. I've tried several small binoculars and found them hard to hold steady until I discovered these. The focusing is smooth and relaible and the click stops hold the diopter adjustment extremely well. The optical quality is very good and these would be my choice over my other binoculars which are a Pentax 7x50 in all but extremely dark situations.

I have the 8x25 version of these. They're a great little pair of binocs. Very light weight and more comfortable to look thorugh than almost every other pair of small binoculars I've tried in this price range. Good image sharpness, even near the edge of the field. Comfortable to hold as well. Since one of the reviews mentioned that these have a problem with "veiling flare" because they're not fully multicoated, I thought I'd compare them to a pair of fully multicoated Pentax PCF 8-20x25 zoom. I noticed a bit less flaring on the Pentax, but after examination, I discovered why. The pentax objectives are recessed farther into the housing than the Nikon's are, thus the lenses are better shielded from sunlight on the Pentaxs than on the Nikons. While I agree that multi-coated optics would help to a degree, the improvment would be minimal. Extending the glare guards a few milimeters on the nikon design would help much more than upgraded coatings. If I had to chose between the Nikon Travelite and a pair that's less comfortable, but tends to flare a little less, I'd still chose the Nikons because comfort is a more important characteristic for me. I'm not a birder, so less flaring might be a feature that birders may consider to be more important. My advice, if you live near a store that carries this model, is to compare these to other pairs on a sunny day and weigh the pros and cons for your self.

Nikon Travelite 9x25 V
Bought the 8-24 zoom version of the Travelite model and was disappointed. These are very small binoculars. Very light easy to bring on a trip. In viewing however, they are difficult to adapt to eyes. Viewing with eyeglasses is impossible. Fuzziness sets in at full magnification. For occasional and casual use only. Save your money

Nikon Travelite 9x25 V
I bought a pair of these as a gift for a budding birdwatcher. The use of aspherical lens elements does allow for reasonably sharp views, BUT the money would have been far better spent on full multicoating. These little binoculars will succumb to veiling flare under more conditions than you could imagine. Getting a view without obvious image washout in all or part of the image is difficult. These are really not worth spending money on, and it's unfortunate since better flare suppression would have made these egonomically designed, small, and light binoculars a very nice choice.
