Description:Best 7x50s I've been able to find under $500 Cdn. Great for eyeglass wearers, very good eye relief combined with 18mm-wide eyepiece means you can actually see the entire field with specs, as well or better than with my 10x50 Bushnell Glasses-On (which are optical very inferior to these). Glasses-off infinity focus not a problem even with very weak eyes like mine, very much a problem for me with most other 7x50s I've tested at double the price or more. Image sharp almost to the edge of the field, lunar craters don't go fuzzy until just before they disappear from the field of view. Very bright lunar image, a bit of flaring with gibbous moon but that's to be expected, though my less-bright Orion Vista 8x42s don't show flaring and probably have better internal coatings. Nice helf and feel, fairly easy to hold steady, comes with a nice soft case.

I think these are a great buy. You can order them from KhanScope for about $200 canadian. The tripod mount feature is good if you are teaching others since you can point to something and fix it in place. The tripod mounting bracket from Nikon costs about $24 canadian. This is expensive for a little pce of metal- you could make your own for about $4 if you were handy with tools.
I highly recommend them. It is a better investment than a telescope for casual viewing and for beginners.

Nikon Shoreline 7x50 CF
The Nikon 7x50 shoreline has excellent optics, all of
which are fully multicoated. The view is clean and bright in
daytime and nighttime viewing. No chromatic abberations have been
noticed. During astronomical viewing, images appear crisps and
bright, even with the faintest 8-9 magnitude star. Star clusters are
not very distinct, but I also view from a moderately light polluted
area. Eye relief is excellent at 20mm. Overall contrast and clarity
is as good as many German binoculars, which are up to 10 times as
pricer. The qaulity and heft are substantial, comparable with much more
expensive binoculars. A good qaulity rubber coating makes for better
grip. The metal frame is extremely durable and the joints for adjusting
the inter-pupillary distance is precise and solid. A very nice case
is also included. These binoculars are an extremely good excellent,
can be compared to more costly ones. They are good for moderately light
polluted skies, but the Nikon 10x50 Lookouts would do a much better
job at filtering out excess light and giving a closer view of Jupiters
moon's.
