Mononoke no Hime (The Princess Mononoke)
Princess Mononoke review

(Remember, if this review is helpful or well-written, please give me a good rating (down below)! Thanks for your support! *^__^)

Animation:
What else can I say about this that you haven't read anywhere else? Princess Mononoke's animation and artwork are absolutely beautiful.

Plot:
This is one of those reviews that's somewhat hard to write because I don't like ruining plots. I realize that if you've managed to find your way to this review, you've probably seen other reviews too, but nonetheless, there's just something about the potential risk of ruining plot points for other people.
All I'll say is that the plot is involving, deep, and uniquely crafted enough that even if the theme (the classic "Who's right and who's wrong?" theme) is clichéd, the movie definitely isn't.
In fact, I'll go with a quote from the DVD box: "The 'Star Wars' of animated films."
By that, I mean to say that while both took an overused movie theme (for Star Wars, it would be saving the galaxy), they were both so inventive along the way that their versions of the story couldn't be matched.

Humor:
None.

Soundtrack:
The music is all very beautiful and well-done (although unlike the earlier Star Wars comparison, there's probably no themes that are going to stick in your head), but it falls a bit short when you consider how great the story truly is. The story can move you at times, but the music probably won't.
To sum it up: The music is a nice touch, but we're not talking Fushigi Yugi-quality here.

Overall:
A great movie that all fans of serious anime should see. For that matter, if you've got someone you know who can't think of any animated show as more than a "kiddy show," then here's a serious start that doesn't need to resort to sex to get its point across.
Either way, an excellent movie. Even if you're not an anime fan and even if you're not even a movie fan, you should see Princess Mononoke if you even like fantasy BOOKS. There aren't many anime out there that I can compare to books in the sheer amount of creativity, but this is one of them.
Highly recommended.

Mononoke no Hime (The Princess Mononoke)
Princess Mononoke tells the story of a war between the animals of the forest, led by their gods, and a group of humans who have built Iron Town on the edge of the forest and begun to mine the mountains for iron ore. Into the fray comes Ashitaka, a young prince of a remote, nearly extinct tribe in northern Japan, who seeks the source of a curse put on him by a dying monstrous boar god which attacked his village. Princess Mononoke was one of the best single movie I've ever seen. I can't begin to describe how mind-blowing this anime was. The animation is spectacular. At first I thought I wouldn't be able to handel the gore since I can't stand watch surgury be done on people on television, but I did. The plot is breath-taking and soo uniqe, I've never seen anything like it. there is no humor once or ever in this, the only thing that comes close to it is all the woman in the town seem to flirt with Ashitaka alittle. the soundtrack was something I needed to hear over and over agian to like. I wasn't exactly fond of the music at first, but after I heard the music at least five times I grew to like it. Overall I really think this anime is one to add to your collection and is a true masterpiece.

Mononoke no Hime (The Princess Mononoke)
I absolutly loved this movie. The animation was great, especially the worm like texture of the demon thing.
Though humore was limited it added to the seriousness of the problem that made the plot so enjoyable. I do not remember the music in this movie very well but i think i enjoyed it.
overal this was a well-done movie that i greatly reccomend.

Mononoke no Hime (The Princess Mononoke)
A great, modern anime movie with many powerful moments. The characters are well-formed and balanced being neither heinously evil nor all too altruistic (except for the lead character). The overall plot though, has more or less been done (man vs. nature), but the way they (Miyazaki and team) go about it is creative nonetheless.

Mononoke no Hime (The Princess Mononoke)
Hayao Miyazaki's movies have been accompanying me for my growth. When I was young in Hongkong, I watched *a lot* of Jap Manga (like 4 hours a day?!). But it was not until I saw the legendary Laputa that I realize the power of anime. I am very impressed by the world that Hayao Miyazaki created. After 12 years at the age of 25 I still enjoy watching anime, with higher expectation on the depth of the story and luckily Hayao Miyazaki's movies grow too. Even the best director in Hollywood cannot depict a world that is so complex and realistic on a fantasy setting, 7 or 8 groups having different goals struggle/ally against/with each other. Hayao Miyazaki once again maximize the capability of Anime :)

Mononoke no Hime (The Princess Mononoke)
Possibly the second greatest anime created by Miyazaki, only eclipsed by Grave of the Fireflies. The ablity to create a story about nature that appeals to the audience of today is certainly Miyazaki's greatest skill. Together with magnificent visuals and a clever use of emotions, this one shot is one of the best of it's time.
