Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
Very nice eyepiece, unless you have the $$ to go with a Panoptic.
Excellent value, nice FOV, not sure if it is quite as advertised but great nonetheless.

Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
Very good eyepiece.

Very good contrast and clarity. Very comfortable to use (if you don´t wear glasses), nice wide field. Edge correction could be better, but it´s not bad at all at f:5.

Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
This is a nice eyepiece to use on dim objects. On bright objects like planets there is a certain amount of ghosting.

I returned the first sampleI got as it had an irritating spot that appeared when viewing planets, the replacement is better but on planets the ghosts reflections are still there.

None of this matters on the moon its too bright!

On the whole a nice eyepiece a pity about the odd ghost.

Recommended for star fields, deep sky objects and the moon.

Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
Not bad - the FOV seems somewhat smaller than advertised, the views are slightly dimmer than an equivalent plossl (but you would expect that). Has nothing on the Panoptics tho. Then again, its less money. A good value for the price. Definatly a step above average plossls IF you are looking for a wide field, and can't afford to pay nagler / panoptic prices.

Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
I like this eyepiece on my LX-200 8" ƒ6.3 Meade scope. It is very sharp great for getting detail out of DSO's, could have a bit better eye relief, I just bought it and have only used it two nights, one under very dark skie the second night from my light polluted backyard, it performed very good overall, so I would recomend this one.

Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
A pretty good eyepiece, but falls down in the eye-relief area if you wear glasses. For the reviewr above, check out the Pentax XL 14mm as well as the Vixen, particularly if you need glasses! No complaints aside from that.

Just wanted to add, the ER is about 11 to 12 mm, just enough so your eyelashes dont dit the lens and the only reasone I didn't give it a 10 was I haven't seen the Vixen LVWA 13 mm yet.

Meade Super Wide Angle 13.8mm
This eyepiece gets a fare amount of flack from Panoptic user's. Well I thing meade must have been tuning into the internet because I just purchased the 13,8 SWA from Rex's Astro Stuff and I must say after comparing it against a TV 15mm panoptic and celestrons 15mm Axiom I was very impressed with it. Both the TV 15 and the Axiom 15 had to tight eye relief making it hard for a comfortable veiw. The meade's EF is just at a point that you can almost take in the whole FOV. The sharpness was almost the same as the TV, even out to the edge it was good but at the extream edge of the feild the TV did a tad better and the Axiom was seagulling 3/4 of the way out ( there 23mm ep does much better here ). The detail on DSO's was very good on the Meade and TV but the Axiom was a little behind here. Planetary detail and veiws on the moon were very close with the meade and TV but the Axiom showed some ghostings or glare in the lens when looking at bright objects. Star test was very good and was the same in the TV and the meade and fuzzy in the axiom. The Axiom had some latteral color problems but the Meade and the TV were top performers here adding no color at all to what you were observing. The contrast was best in the TV, a very close 2nd place to the meade and the Axiom was 2rd again. The street price range on the Axiom is around $130 and the Meade $140, the TV $210 so I would place the meade in the best buy and a close second to the TV, IMO I don't see enough of a difference for me to go the extra wood. The only EP I have not tried is the Vixen LVWF 13mm
and that could be the only ep that may top these two and have more eye relief. Highly recomended
