Superior Optics! Using it permanently mounted so I can't complain about the weight. Mount is accurate and quieter then my LX200 10" Classic. A little bit of shakiness in the mount, but settles out fairly quickly. Overall, and excellent value. I was considering the 16", but with a $10K difference between 14" and 16", just couldn't justify it.

Hello

I upgraded from an N11 GPS. At first I wasn't sure that I did the right thing. The optics were great, better than the N11, but the setup was a pain. I put it on the JMI wheely bars so the weight wasn't the problem. It was the getting the initial alignment each time I setup. The alignment stars are no where close to being in the finder scopes FOV. Quite a difference from th N11 which was very accurate. But I am use to it now and can align very quickly. The GoTo is dead on. 90% or more of the objects are in the FOV of a 20mm EP(close to the center). The evening viewing here has not been too good since I got the scope so I finally got up early at 4am to see waht this beast could do. WOW! Totally blew the N11 away. Sharp clear views... Saturn, M42, open clusters were spectacular. Even M82 showed me detail I had never seen before. This is a great scope. Get through the learning curve, figure out a way you don't have to mount it for each session and you won't be disappointed!

This is one fine telescope. Very heavy, but necessarily so. I have only had it out 3 times; the views are astounding.

Meade LX200 GPS 14"
What a scope. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I made my own permanent pier, so I can't vouch for the sturdiness of it on a tripod, but on my mount vibrations dampen out in a couple seconds. Optics are incredible. Resolutions is awesome.

Meade LX200 GPS 14"
This is one heavy scope. Excellent defraction pattern. Very sharp view of Saturn at high power after Collimation. Manual could be better. Best scope for the price on the market.

This IS AN OUTSTANDING TELESCOPE, and every part of the telescope. Optics or excellent, and as for the same the go to system. The only problem i see, it is to heavy, it is hard to transport. Other then that outstanding telescope. Thank you MEADE

Meade LX200 GPS 14"
Above average optics however the Scope is wedded to a fork which cannot be removed making setup cumbersome. Continued lack of attention to detail in fit & finish and use of plastics/weak gearing keep this new Meade entry in the mediocre category. No integrated thermal cooling, poor baffling will need some attention downstream.
