Meade Electronic Eyepiece

I've seen a lot of negative comments on the net about the image quality from this eyepiece...yeah, if you use it on a wannabe telescope! I put mine on our local university's 8" Meade SCT with a shorty Barlow configured for 3x during the Mars close approach last year, and we had to pick people's jaws up off the ground! I have also used it on Saturn(same configuration), and CLEARLY observed Cassini's Division in the ring system. Jupiter and its 4 brightest moons are a great target for this eyepiece, also.

Meade Electronic Eyepiece

If Mattel made a CCD camera, this would be it. It is really a black & white CMOS element video chip with a video out connector. It is hard to focus, hard to find things with and hard to find and adjust the brightness. This is what must have been done with all of those surplus reject Barbie-cams. Better to get a Nikon Coolpix digital camera and a Scopetronix telescope adapter.
