Description:Eyepieces: These Meade 4-element Plössl (PL) eyepieces are specifically designed for use with ETX 60mm and 70mm models and yield the higher powers listed in the table below. Higher magnifications are particularly useful in observations of the Moon and planets. Keep in mind, however, that steady atmospheric conditions are particularly important at higher powers. The 4-element wide-angle WA18mm eyepiece yields extremely wide fields of view with either telescope, ideal for scanning star fields or for terrestrial applications. Note that magnifying powers are doubled or tripled, respectively, when an eyepiece is used in conjunction with the #124 2x or #128 3x Barlow Lens, below.

I got mine new and cheap off of ebay for something like $25. I've used it perhaps twice on my C8 SCT and I was immediately unimpressed with the eyepiece's edge performance. Center was sharp but too much wasn't.

As a comparison, I recently picked up the Meade 14mm UWA which is wonderfully sharp to the edge (heavy as hell though).

I also have GSO 20mm and 25mm Plossls which are much better than the 18mm WA.

(All comments derived from using the EPs with a Celestron C8 f10).

My favorite eyepiece. Good veiw with both reflectors and refractors. Slight coma's of objects around edges, but overall a very good value
