I was really surprised with the excellent optics, sharp image to the edge and excellent light gathering ability. My purpose of trying these binoculars was for Astronomical use. On July 19th I put them to use at a very dark sky site in North Texas. I also asked several other observers to give their opinion and every person was very impressed with the brightness of the many double stars, open clusters and globular clusters we looked at. These binoculars are an excellent value, usually on sale around $200. You will not find a better value in this price range if you want a superb set of binoculars for your Astronomy viewing.

Leupold Wind River 10x50
I purchased these binoculars in oct 2005. Very good optics,
waterproof , handholdable, and a real bargain at $ 189.00
