Leitz Ultra Wide Angle 30mm
It comes with two different model with the same specification, the old one is aluminum cell, the new one is black anodized. The wide field is excellent for deepsky object especially suitable for globular cluster under long focal ratio telescope like f/15 or even higher. The colour correction I would say is better than any other with similar specification and is comfortable for long time viewing or eyepiece projection for astro imaging.

Leitz Ultra Wide Angle 30mm
Compared to Nagler, not as sharp on edge. This eyepiece falls somewhere between the Nagler 31mm and the Widescan II despite it's price. Very nice but not exactly the best anymore. I compared it directly to both. The Nagler is sharper on the edge and doesn't black out as bad when viewed at a slight angle. The Leitz is sharper than the Widescan II on edge by a long shot but not dramatically so. Neither compares to the Nagler 31mm. The Leitz is wonderful but since the Nagler came out seems to be a name thing instead of actually being better. Buy the Nagler AND the Nagler 22 for that price! Nagler's warranty is something rarely considered in the mix also!

Leitz Ultra Wide Angle 30mm
Very good over 70% of the field, with some definite image quality dropoff towards the edge. Extremely sharp on axis for a wide field eyepiece, with just about perfect eye relief, no blackout kidney bean effect.

Leitz Ultra Wide Angle 30mm
Without a doubt, my favorite deep sky eyepiece. I have owned a lot of eyepieces but this one I will never sell. Sharp to the edge and very bright views in my F6.5 refractor but I understand this eyepiece performs differently in different scopes. No pincushion nor astigmatism and has a wider true FOV than a 32mm Nagler or 35mm Panoptic with more magnification to boot; however, I do believe the 32mm Nagler may offer a very slight contrast advantage. Very expensive. Recommend using this eyepiece over a grass field. One slip over asphalt could ruin your night though I understand Markus Ludes in Germany can replace damaged lenses.
