Description:ITE is pleased to offer these medium aperture and giant aperture field binoculars from Russia for astronomy and/or birding. The KRONOS BPC 20x60mm Field Binoculars offer a slightly larger aperture than the more common 50mm binoculars for outstanding light gathering power. These units are great for astronomy or for birding under low light conditions at dusk or dawn. At 1.45 kg ( ~ 3 pounds), they are still light enough for comfortable handheld observations. However, for astronomy, use of the tripod adaptor (provided with the binoculars) and an optional photo tripod is recommended. The BPC 20x60s feature smooth center focusing and superior optical components, including BAK-4 Porro prisms and precision multicoatings applied to every air-glass optical surface. Images are flat across the entire field without any noticeable edge distortion.

If even more power and light gathering capability is desired either for serious astronomy or for terrestrial applications, then the KRONOS BPC 26X70mm GIANT FIELD BINOCULARS fit the bill perfectly. These units feature individual ocular focusing and the same great optical components as in the BPC 20x60s. These units weigh in at 1.7 kg (~ 3.7 pounds) and can still be hand held, if desired, although a sturdy tripod mount is provided for use with an optional photo tripod.

Each of these fine Russian field binoculars come with a classic coarse-grain black exterior that provides a firm grip, a tripod adaptor, neck strap, black soft case with shoulder strap, and lens caps for the eyepieces and objectives.

I bought these Kronos 26 x70mm binos from LAN for around $200. Also available from ITE and Astrostuff for a similar price. They arrived in good collimation. The FOV is pretty flat across the 2.5 degrees. The individual focus oculars are focus smoothly and yeild a sharp image across the FOV. Not too heavy at 3.7 lbs. Eye glass wearers be warned that the eye relief is only 9mm. I am pretty near sighted, but am able to focus these binos without my glasses on. Also, you will need to buy the monting clamp ($10) designed for these binos so you can mount them on a tripod. It comes with a soft case, so I carry them around in a plastice file case bought from an office supply store. If you don't mind the dimmer views of a 2.7 mm exit pupil, these are a good bargain. Recommended.

Kronos BPC 26x70
Very interesting binoculars. I like high powered binoculars - I have a Fujinon 16 x 70mm and a Kronos 20 x 60mm and now the 26X - the Kronos 26x70 it is the best binoculars that I got to my planetary/moon observation. I saw with perfection the Saturn rings separate - Venus in Phase - Two little bands in Jupiter and the Jovian's moons.
The moon it is something spectacular with 26X - it's possible to identify to many craters and valleys - she be enormous. The Russian optics are incredible - even in the moon the chromatic aberration it's very low - I saw less in the 26X than in my Fuji 16X. recommended to ''binoculars high powered guys'' - the only drawback is the short eye relief - not recommended for who wear glasses.

Hi..
These binos are really good for good astro weather .
I saw its opticall-class after conected on stabile tripod.
Its gave the pictures a like medium class refractors with the powerfull field
of view.The stars are clear to the adges in 85% of apertures.
Its brightness is grate surprise(m31 and m57 picturised and wide!)
For planets and moon needed good apperent air.
ITS bit C.DeLUXE 20x80 and Kronos 20x60 more.
No marcy i rate 10 (I had an old adapter to use in complet is missy//but optically perfect .

These binoculars are surprisingly good for the money.I would say that they
consistently out-perform 20x80 binos from meade , celestron ,orion etc.I can
actually discern the rings in saturn and belts in jupiter without having to
put up with false colour.Very sharp binos.A special mount is needed however
to suppress the vibrations from such a high power binocular.

Optically and mechanically, these Russian binoculars are not bad for the money. The eye piece fields are nice and wide and reasonably sharp to about 70% to edge. Eye relief is good for non-eyeglass wearers. Contrast is fair given the power of these. Very little color detected on bright objects when perfectly focused. I was able to split the trapezium with no problem. Mechanically, they have a nice solid, metallic, industrial feel although I think the diopters adjust too easily for my taste although they will stay put. The only major problem with these is that there is no provision to mount any type of tripod adapter which is a must for handling this kind of power. This pair included a flimsy clamp on tripod adapter which clamps on to the center shaft. I found this to be inadequate for the weight and power, making focusing difficult, therefore the low rating. I rigged these on a simple small plywood platform attached atop a fluid head for a nice solid operation.
