Okay, I should say this straight out. I'm not a large fan of the Kimagure Orange Road TV series. The first episode was an extreme turn-off for me, with all of the dumb-thug and lame excuses for battle cliches which tends to show up quite a bit in the series. The characters, however, are genuinely charming, from the clumsy yet well-meaning Kyosuke, to the seemingly invincible Madoka, to the oft-times annoying, yet undeniably cute Hikaru. The series, however, was prone to dumb and inane stories of embarrasment and fleeting chances of intimacy which were spoiled by Kyosuke's idiotic exploits.
This movie, however, totally makes up for the inanity of the series, in that it handles it's subject of tragic love lost and the declaration of one's true feelings so maturely and so realistically, that I was totally blown away by it. "I Want to Return to That Day" is perhaps the greatest possible conclusion that an anime series can possibly have, and the story is so tragically gutwrenching that anybody who does not appreciate the sorrows, the love, and the rage experienced by the characters engaged in this masterpiece of a tragic drama can only be described as unfeeling bastards. The movie is easy to relate to in that it is so realistic. Never have the denizens of Kimagure Orange Road felt so tangible and realistic in their emotions. Kimagure Orange Road, thus, ends with a bang, and what a touching bang it is. Don't miss it.

I watched this movie 21 times over the course of 3 days. It was the most touching anime movie I have ever seen. It was damn depressing. I swear I cried the first 5 times I saw it, it almost happened on the next 16. I think this explains how excelent this movie is.

I found this to be a rather good ending to a good series... I think Kyosuke handled things the right way. My favorite character is Madoka Ayukawa!!! But even more than her, I like Sakura Saginomiya from 801 TTS Airbats! She rules... Oh yeah, see this movie. Even if you haven't seen the tv show, you WON'T regret it. I also like the newest movie, Shin KOR.

ya not much humour in this one it actually quite
sad seeing that hikaru chan had to be dumped like a trash can
she ended up being by herself.
kysoku just had to dump her but he was so mean he push and shoved her
away.
