I just got to use my dew heating system on my 12"lx200..wow.What a difference it makes! The corrector plate stays dew free for the whole nite. Before it was a real struggle with moisture,I tried shields, blowers etc and eventually the dew won.The Kendrick system is really high class. The cables are very good and made of superior material as are the connectors.I found the staff at Kendrics to be A-1,helpfull and courtious. This is a must have item for scopes in any dew prone areas.Good nites of seeing or just finding a free nite to get away are too easily cut short by this mess.

No more hairdryer. No more frosted eyepieces.Argo Navis loves the heater pad an works well at even - 25 celsius. The 2 nd mirror does not frost up any more. The Telrad remains frost free all night. It,s great to view an entire evening frost free.

I'm enjoying the Kendrick Dew Heater now after some initial problems that shortened two of my viewing nights. The connectors (at least on the eyepiece strips) have the connections too close together which makes them prone to short out. The connections are easy to fix, you just unscrew the connector, pull back the rubber sheath, and put a strip of electrical tape between the connections. I spoke with the Kendrick guy and he was familiar with the problem so call them if you have questions. I would recommend that you fix these before you use them for the first time and also buy a box of 5amp fuses to keep with you when you go out.

I use a Kendrick system on my 8" LX200 and have had good experiences with it so far. I have 4 heater strips and a controller, and my only complaint so far is that the smallest heater strip (for the finder eyepiece) is starting to deteriorate due to a badly sewn seam on part of the cloth/velcro. I've had the system for a year and have been able to observe many more hours than was possible using dew shields etc previously. The Kendrick system is particularly nice for astrophotography since dew shields tend to catch the wind and cause vibrations when gusts occur.

I installed Kendrick heaters on the secondary, eyepiece and Telrad of my 17.5" truss dob. Until i did this i could not use the scope for more than about 30 minutes due to dewing up.
I can now use the scope all night long. The only downside is that i had to install a well-designed 12volt electrical system on the scope, as the current drain for the 3 heaters is almost 1 amp, during the power-on part of the cycle.

Definitely worth having, however.
