Outstanding value.... My only issue is weight. Used primarily for viewing rowing regattas, these units get up close and personal. I am the envy of all the other parents

I own several pairs of 60 to 70 mm binoculars but got these because they were cheap. Jupiter and Saturn won't come to sharp images, but star fields lokk very pleasing. They are slightly more compact than my other 70mm's.

Reccomended if you can get cheap.

These are no longer available from Heartland. I have also heard that some people got the version that was not BAK-4-ed from them, even tho' they were advertised as such.

As of 8-23-2001, these binoculars are being liquidated by Heartland America for 69.95. At that price they are true STEAL of a DEAL!! They are fully multicoated and provide excellent, and very bright, images. Obviously they are no Nikon Superior Es, but the image is very sharp and with 70mm objectives you get great light through-put. They are hand-holdable, but also have a built in tripod socket and come with a tripod adapter as well! All in all it would be impossible to beat these for money. They are really quite close in performance to binoculars, like the 10x70 Fujinons, which cost many hundreds of dollars. Check 'em out! I think you'll be very satisfied. If not, you can even return them to Heartland.

Can you spell "WONDERFUL"??? I got a pair and I am going to get another or possibly two. To me, they are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I think if someone told me that they cost $150, I still would not be able resist the deal. Yes, they came with a tripod, but I don't need it. My hands are steady so are yours. One guy who saw them thought they were some kind of night vision optics. True, they work miracles at night. Looking thru them at late dusk at a distant house spooked me: I was in the middle of their living room! Looking at hte moon made me feel like a kid again. What a beautiful creation!!! Remember, you are getting them BECAUSE of their QUALITY not because of their price. Pretty lousy instructions, errors in German. I was able to see a hawk that nobody else could see. Then I saw an eagle working on a skunk. I parked the car 300 hundred yards away and looked at him. What a show! Quaity of manufacturing is SUPERIOR. I am pisky but there was not a spec on tehm I could critisize.

Just purchased them from "www.sportsmansguide.com" same price 79.97. Used my brothers the last few days, both day and night and worked great. Looked at everything from wildlife to M8, M31, Mars, and was very impressed on how clear and easy on the eyes they are. Wasn't in the market to purchase but to late now they are on the way!

The price is now $79.95. Now that I think of it, it probably was that before too. I have a Heartland membership, so I received them for right around $72, and must thus have remembered them as being $69.95. Supposedly the free tripod adaptor offer was only good til 8-31. I would bet however that all of the boxes have one packed in them, as it more hassle than it's worth to keep two separate inventories. If it isn't included, however, any standard adapter can be used. I sometimes import Chinese binocular from this same manufacturer, under a different brand name. In fact, I'm the person who insisted that they start making them using BAK-4 prisms and full multicoatings. (The originals without these features were nice and sharp, but not bright and vivid.) They started doing so, and proceeded to market both versions. Usually you will find the cheaper ones being blown out at around $100. But these are the improved version, with much better coatings and prisms. I used to buy these directly from the Chinese for right around what they are being liquidated for by Heartland! So, once again, it's a hell of a glass for that price!
