I just got hold of a 1008 Delux or 10 inch f-10 intes micro mak cassegrain

Takes around 1 hour to cool using fan at rear of scope.
obstruction is 84mm or 33%

Very impressive performance when cooled pinpoint stars amazing contrast on dso's like planetaries etc. Very bright crisp images gives little to a top notch newt beats it with baffling etc.

The field is flat and pinpoint to the edge amazing scope for medium power wide field and higher power planetaries etc

Stunning on Jupiter even when low in the sky. Blows away a C11 which is ok but just can't show the clarity and sharpness of the big Mak.. Focuser a bit stiff but no mirror shift at all none.

I bought this optical tube used at a steep discount from the new price which is 8,000.00 new from ITE. I would never have paid the new price without having used it first. Having used it, I now think it is a good value at 8,000.00 and I feel very fortunate to have bought it as I did.

It gives a near-perfect star test. It exceeds in optical quality a long focal newtonian I had with a Royce mirror and a small secondary designed for planetary observing, all in a light (35 pounds with rings) compact package. For the price I paid I would give it a '14'. If I didn't already own my scope I would be happy to pay the 8,000 for a similar scope.

It takes a while to cool down, but this isn't an issue for me as I have it set up in an observatory.

Even though I didn't purchase it directly from ITE, Mike Palermiti is helpful and friendly when I have contacted him. Russian optics are awesome!
