Brand and Model:Intes-Micro 2x
Price ($USD):$50
Magnification:2.0x
Barrel Size:1.25"
Description:The barrel 8.2 cm long. The lens element is 2.0 cm wide. It is a glued doublet. Deep blue coating. Sides of the lens are well darkened significantly reducing glare when viewing the terminator of the moon. Views of the moon have a distinctly yellowish cast. The optical surfaces seem to be well corrected in that up to 150X per inch resolution of detail does not break down, so much as just begin to wash out; but holds together well. At 1200X (200X per inch in an MK67) Regulus presents a well delineated airy disk with a clear first diffraction ring. However, there does seem to be some light scattering over half of the field of view at that absurd magnification.

Though the seller informed me that this was a 2X barlow, it seems to be around a 2.3X or even 2.4.

This barlow came with my (Russian made) Intes Micro 5" Mak. I was able to compare it on this and my other scopes with a 2x GTO shorty barlow that I had already had for a few years and the improvement in images made me realize just how important a good barlow is overall to the system. Not necessarily the best barlow you can buy, but a vast improvement over any Chinese barlow, to be sure. A good choice.

A further addition to the above description. A scalar comparison between star FOV transit in an eyepiece and then with this barlow in place, revealed a scalar comparison of 40 seconds to 15 seconds, revealing a magnification of 2.67X.
