Terrible looking eyepiece, but works well in any scope, I have used it a TV102, 10" f/6, 20"f/4, 8,10&12" lx200 Tasco 4.25" just to name a few. only a 50 deg AFOV, great eyerelief, is really good value for money. One of my most used.

Harry Siebert Optics Standard 29mm
I (as a beginner) can recommend it to useres who are interested in a good and cheap eyepiece without bothering too much about the design.
I use it with a 10/1000 Russian Barrel, a 5' Newton and a small
70/700 Fraunhofer. It is one of my most used eyepieces for getting
an overview of the field.

The 29mm certainly does have good eye relief, just over an inch, I had
trouble with blackouts until I put a rubber eyepiece guard on it. This
helped me hold my eye in the right place. To sum this eyepiece up, it has
that well made home made look to it, it is not very pretty, but a impressive
amount of glass on the top that lets you know this is eyepiece has a few
surprises for you. The more I use it the more I like it, I really really
like this eyepiece, the field is nice and flat, contrast is spot on, no
false colour, the star images are as good as any eyepiece I have seen.
NGC55 & 253 where a treat, better than in a 25mm Abbe Orthoscopic and meade
26mm 4000 Plossl I have here as well. M42 & 43, whoooo and wisps of
Nebulosity around each of the stars in M45. A 27mm TV Panoptic gives a
wider field of view but not a better quality image and costs 5x more. It
will not be my most used eyepiece, but it I am sure it will become a well
used favourite especially when galaxy hunting. Not a pretty eyepiece to look at
but at this price I can live with that

An update on my first review of this eyepice, its has been used now in quite a few telescopes in our club, some of the telescopes have been LX200 10 & 12 inch, a 22 inch Dob, a 102 Tele Vue APO refactor, 60mm and 114mm Tacso and many sizes and types of telescopes. Everyone agrees in any type/size telescope this eyepice on galaxies and globler clusters this eyepiece rocks, we cannot find better for image quality around this focal range. On nebulas this it is great but a good ortho or plossl around the same focal lenght will show more colour if any is too be seen. Planets the eyepice is very good but agiain a good ortho like a UO or a Tele Vue plossl is slighly better. This is a great deepsky eyepiece and myself I found I use it most on galaxies, in fact its my favoriate eyepiece in this focal lenght for galaxies. My only wish is if it could have more than 52 deg AFOV, but the FOV is not really a big deal. If your after a cheap eyepiece around this focal lenght and do not mind the home made look get it you will not be sorry. One other little problem with this eyepiece is out at our club observing nights I often have to go looking for it because everyone borrows it all the time expecially if they are galaxy hunting.
