Harry Siebert Optics Premium 15mm, 1.25 inch
I have a Discovery EQ 8 inch reflector that is an F/5, which I like very much. After much research trying out different eyepieces I decided to purchase an entire line on Siebert Eyepieces as I felt that they would give me the most for my eyepiece dollar. I have the 3.4mm, 4.9mm, 7mm, and 10mm 1.25” standard series; the 15mm, 21mm 1.25” Premium deep sky series; and the 32 Ultra Plus 2” eyepiece. Harry has been a pleasure to deal with and in the many times that I have spoken with him he has given me excellent advice as to which eyepieces would benefit me the most given my telescope and what I like to observe. He truly took the time to tailor my eyepiece selections to me and I don’t think that you can get that service easily anywhere else.

15mm premium review --> I bought this after I bought the 21mm premium and this one is even better. It is absolutely tack sharp to the edge of its 75 deg field. I was actually taken aback by it the first time I used it. I get both M81 and M82 in the same field (68X) which is crisp and bright to the edges. Costs a little more than the 21mm, but is is fabulous. Probably the single most impressive eyepiece that I have ever used.

Mine had lots of ghosting, and one of the lenses was loose. Siebert would not give me my money back, and only offered an exchange. I will never buy from him again!

It doesn't take a superhero with x-ray vision to spot a "hired basher," so to speak. I decided to see what other people like and dislike about Siebert's products, finally figured this Website out, and here I am. I own Siebert products, and like them all, and I'll report specifically on those products' forum subjects.

To set the record straight: The person who reported that he couldn't get his money back is either a liar or exceeded the money-back guarantee period, and that would have had to have been by quite a while.

As for ghosting, it can happen with Siebert's EPs on the brightest objects (Saturn, Sirius, etc.), as it does with most of my EPs with the exception of the Naglers (which are three times as much money). The problem can be solved for any EP almost entirely by adding an inexpensive Skylight Filter to the visual back, which is just prudent anyway. Ghosting is the only problem I've had with Siebert EPs, and they in fact outdo every other EP I own for single-eye and binoviewing except for the Naglers in virtually every category.

You coward, Why not put your name on this.

Everyone knows that Siebert has the best money back guaranty around. That is why you cannot sign your review.
