Description:GSO eyepieces offer a great value for money. They feature a modern optical design, allowing for the use with "fast" focal ratio telescopes down to f/5.

-fully multicoated for best possible contrast and transmission
Mechanical features metal body with rubber grip and soft rubber eyecups against stray light
Image quality crisp and contrasty images without distortion near the edge. Many eyepieces with larger apparent fields of view have quite some noticable distortion towards the edge of the field of view, thus apparently reaching wider fields without changing the actual field of view. TS WA eyepieces do not use this trick.
Usable with: You can use these eyepieces with any telescopes with a focal ratio of f/5 or longer. Please keep in mind that the exit pupil does not get too large with the long focal length TS WA eyepieces, though. (For example, at f/5 you may well use the GSO 32, but the GSO 42 and 50 will render a not-quite-useful exit pupil of 8.4mm or 10mm, respectively. The exit pupil should never grow bigger than your own eyes' pupils can, otherwise you will waste light.)

Just received this eyepiece and have only tested it terrestrially. This has to be the best buy in the eyepiece industry. Very sharp and contrasty. At $49.00 from Owl Services it is a steal. If you are looking for a low power 2" eyepiece you better get hold of one of these while you can. well I better shut up before you think I'm related to the dealer or Guan Shen, which, of course, I'm not.

I am new to amateur astronomy, so I know my vote won't hold much weight. But with that being said I am very picky about optics in general. I have a f/4.9 Reflector and with that mirror coma is a problem in my other wide-field eyepieces (Orion 20mm Expanse, etc..) So when I purchased this eyepiece (GSO 42mm 2' Superwide) I was just expecting the same distortion, only bigger. Well I am glad to say I was mistaken. When I compare them (I know they are different focal lengths) the difference is amazing. To be fair I used a 2" GSO Barlow to make it 21mm to comapare and with the GSO I had virtually no disortion to the edge. The color stayed correct and the field stayed flat. Every star was tack-sharp 95% of the view. The eye-relief is a bit hard to get used to, but after a while you work it out. I gave the optics an 8 with no other 2" comparison, I'm sure there is better, but not for the price. The construction of the eyepeice is impressive with an anodized aluminum body and rubber grip complete with a set-screw channel and the optics appear to be fully coated. It comes with a handy rubber eye guard and is shipped with caps inside a cardboard box fit to shape.
I used this ep with my Dimage 7i and experienced an impressive full-frame with the expected vignetting for such a large lens on the camera. The pictures I took (Moon) where amazing, I can't wait till I can try it out on some DSO. This eyepiece is made in taiwan and is being sold to several outlets and being sold as their eyepeices (Teleskop Services, Owl Services, etc), I purchased mine on Ebay from OwlServies (Owl1) and got it for a deal at $50. You can "buy it know" for $59 if you can't wait. He doesn't have the 2" eyepieces up on his site yet but he assures me they will be up soon with some accessories (Barlows, Extension tubes, etc) His site is http://owlservices.com or just go to ebay and do a search for 2" eyepieces. By the way, the same eyepiece is being sold by Teleskop services for $130!! The eyepeice is being compared to other eyepieces of the same focal length made by big-name makers as being close to the same experience, I can't speak to that having never tried any other 2" eyepiece, but I have to say I was impressed never-the-less. I also highly recommend the 2" Barlow from the same maker ($59). It is fully Multi-coated and works like a charm. It can be used with the 42mm to give it 2x, or unscrew the end and put it on the eyepeice and get approx. 1.7x or so, it works great. (I know this isn't news to other people, but it was to me!) I gave up my 1.25 Orion shorty barlow and use this exclusively now. Anyway for $59 bucks what are you going to loose? Get 'em while they are still cheap!

I just received the 50mm version of this eyepiece and what a surprise...I paid $50 from Owl Services on E-Bay. I've only had it out for one evening but stars are sharp 90% of FOV with almost no discernable field curvature. You can take some far more expensive eyepieces and not get as good a correction...fit and finish is first rate. On my C9.25 this gives me 80% of a Panoptic performance and I think that is simply amazing regardless of price!
