IMO not a bad EP for the money but in this price range i prefer the Edmund RKE 8mm to it, even with it's less AF.

The GTO Super Plossl is not a GTO eyepiece at all but is actually an Omcon eyepiece which comes from the very same Tiawan optics maker as the Orion Sirius eyepieces. As you might expect the quality is the same and the eyepieces appear identical to the Orions except for the labeling. They are well finished and (supposedly) fully coated with a rubber fold down eyecup. I ordered three at once (17, 12.5 and 7.5mm) which gave a price of $36 each.

Under sky conditions of about a 6 with light polution (mainly the moon) and air turbulance with an Orion SVD 8" f/4 Newtonion, I zeroed in on Jupiter. I used successive powers ending with the Omcon 7.5 to view Jupiter. In this very fast scope, it gave a surprisingly good view. The focus would come and go with atmospheric disturbances but the view was very acceptable - well worth $36. The eye relief is about 6+mm, real tight, but still manageable for short viewing periods.

One problem with this type of eyepiece is quality control. If you get a good one, great. Sometimes you might get a REALLY good one! If you get a bad one, then Hands on Optics has a good return policy. Use it.

GTO-SP Super Plossl 7.5mm
Dim view with debris around the field stop. Almost impossible to get eye close enough without glasses. I would imagine with glasses would be even worse. I can;t recommend this eyepiece at all.
