Average optics, not much better than an SR 4mm. Purchase if you own a larger scope than a 114mm. You will not notice a significant difference in performance if you have a smaller apperature as the distortion will wipe out any benefit to the magnification. Another better choice would be to purchase a 9 mm and use a good quality 2x barlow.

However, with a larger apperture it is possible that this ep will be on a par with higher costing plossls.

GTO Plossl 4mm

Reasonable Plossl. 4mm just doesn't work good with a Plossl design. Better to get an Ortho or even better yet a Radian.
