Description:I wanted an inexpensive low power 2"
eyepiece to look at broad vistas in my 8" f4.7 Newtonian so purchased the GSO Superview 30mm. It is finished well and the viewing is good. Centre 1/2 of field is sharp ( about all you can expect for EP in this price range ) but contrast is good. Gave a great view of the entire double cluster in Perseus.

I feel I got good value for my money.

GSO Superview 30mm
I use this eyepiece in an 80mm f/6.9 Refractor and a 6 inch f/8 Newtonian. At the outset I want to say that considering the price it is unrealistic to expect Panoptic or Nagler-like performance. However, at moderate to slower focal ratios this eyepiece is very usefull as a finder and provides very pleasing widefield views. When I can afford a 27mm Panoptic I will replace it, but until then it has a place in my eyepiece case. Note this is the same eyepiece as the one titled Guan Shen Optics 30mm where you can find more reviews. Highly recommended for telescopes configured to f/7 and slower.

GSO Superview 30mm
I really wanted a 31 Nagler, but all I could afford was a 30 GSO. I've only used this item on a fast f/4.8 scope, so I can't say how it would work on an f/10. But at f/4.8, stars on the outer 50% of the field have LOTS of seagulls. The old saying that you get what you pay for applies in this case. One other thing, this eyepiece is threaded for 48 mm filters, so my 2 inch Orion Ultrablock won't mount.

As I said in my review this eyepiece is not designed for fast (<f/7) telescopes. It is very unrealistic to expect naglerlike performance in a widefield eyepiece that retails for less than $100. That being said for people with slower scopes it can work quite beautifully and is well worth the money. It should not be trashed and rated poorly because you expected it to perform in a setting for which it was not designed. Other people who would use it properly might be turned off for no reason because of your poor rating. It pays to do your homework before you buy, there are plenty of places to find out about all eyepieces that are sold today.
