The binocular is built like a tank. Very well made with superb optics. When you look through it, the binocular seems to disappear and you get the feeling 'being there'.

Low light performance is excellent. I took this binocular on a birding trip and I could see through this binocular very clearly at dusk. Most of my friends' binoculars showed a lack of contrast and were almost unusable in the fading light.

I bought this binocular primarily for astronomy, and I am quite happy with it.

My major complaint is the weight. This is one *heavy* binocular. I am unable to hold it steady for more than 30 seconds before my arm starts aching. So you see it is very difficult to use without a tripod for astronomical purposes because you need to 'hold position' for identifying distant objects.

The Fujinon provided shoulder strap distributes the weight evenly (and you avoid a neckache).

I would recommend that you physically try out this binocular before making any decision. It is a superb instrument, but ease of use is another matter.
