The ones I've seen are very good and if you love a lot of fighting this is one you'll enjoy. The guys powers continue to grow through out the series and of course meet new challeges fist on.

Much better than DragonballZ in my opinion. The series is quirky and the animation is thoughtfully done. The characters are portrayed simplistically, but as in Rumiko Takahashi's work (Ranma etc) this doesn't hurt the look of the animé.
The jokes are oddball and in some cases very Japanese, and I think a lot of that is lost on a western audience. This mainly appeals to children and teenagers, which I think is a pity because as a result it can put other animé fans off it. In my opinion, watch DragonBall if you want to see how DBZ should have been done.

A really enjoyable show. Dragon Ball is actually superior to its successor, Dragon Ball Z; the older show has a more intricate plot, more humour, and less repetitive fighting; plus, because the fights are less epic, huge, and all-pervasive to begin with, you're still interested and impressible at the end of the series, instead of thinking, "Oh, so now he gets yet more power and builds up yet a bigger ki blast. Yay." True, the humour is pretty juvenile, but like Cheech and Chong, it's still pretty damn funny. Dragon Ball Z had better animation, less cartoonish (more superhero comic-book style) characters, and better music, so it is aesthetically better, but in all other ways Dragon Ball is just more enjoyable.

oh well i can see the jap ones ^-^ but it would be better, just think of some parts that people have to miss in canada!! i fell so sorry for them!! the peple who edit it take out the funnyest parts!! (sometimes)
