Discovery PDHQ 15"
here are the pros & cons on this wonderful scope!

"pros"
#1. great optics! 1/10 wave as specified by discovery
#2. smooth & precise 2" focuser!
#3. very smooth motion, in up/down or left/right
#4. affordable price for a large scope
#5. scope tube is very durable & has a good finish

now the dreaded cons! ;)
#1. very heavy tube, but its to be expected its a very large
dobsonian with a solid tube.
#2. colimination could be a little easier with knobs instead of
using allen head wrenches
#3. mount was nice looking but a little light for the scope
(a little wobbly!!)
#4. delivery time was a little off from when i was told to
expect it

I have owned lots of scopes, from 3" to this 15"
ive owned sct,s dobsonians, & refractors
this is the best all around dobsonian scope that i have owned other than a 10" dob that i built myself. I just had a lot of trouble moving this monster around by myself so i had to sell it : (

you really cant go wrong for the money, great optics! good fluid motion. I think most would be really satisfied
thanks David L

Discovery PDHQ 15"
well just received my new 15in pdhq. this scope is a monster. it will take 2 to move safely. i allready own a 10in pdhq and it is a excellent scope with excellent optics. so i thought i give discovery a shot at making me a 15 scope.so far i have used the scope 4 nights in a row. got to use it the first night how many times does that happen. well the optics are dam good again;ronchi test showed a really smooth surface with no aberrations. star test was good so far as i could do so far.star are pinpoint down to a 10.5 ep. star getting a littel soft at 9mm.the scope moves decent for a monster, cost $170 to ship from discovery to myfront door in soutern IN.it came in a huge tractor trailer via yellow freight. every thing was deliverd except the cover for the end. discovery said they would send one out.over all this scope shows incredible views. i am having nightscope make me a truss system for my optics. they make a lot better truss than discovery. not knocking discovery they do a great job for the money, but i want a killer truss for thesegood optics and i will sell the tube and mount later. well if you want a good scope discovery is a great deal the best value out their IMHO.THANKS BOB HART
