Very Excellent Scope! If it wasn't for the poor Finder Scope I would rate this scope a perfect 10! I do Recommend getting the Add-on package that includes 2 Plossl Eyepieces Scope covers and Eyepiece Rack and Moon Filer.. pretty good upgrade for the price. The telescope arrived in 2 packages and was well protected from damage(unlike other companies). very easy to assemble with full instructions..1 quick Collmination and I was looking at the heavens. The Base is very well made and seems easy to move in all direction and is 22"x26" so it's easy to move through door and will fit in my 96 mustang with no problem. so for $387.00 I was shipped a 6" dob,Base, 4 Plossl Eyepieces (6.5mm,10mm,15mm,25mm)Eyepiece rack, Moon Filter, 2 Dust Covers.. This is a great scope for the Beginner and the Avid Star Gazer!. Discovery includes a 1 year warrenty and a 30 day money back guarantee (unlike other telescope makers) the Tech Support is very knowledgable and Helpful (no lies here).. besides the poor finder scope and that they didn't include a dust cover for Focuser (which was fixed by inserting a 35mm film canister) I give this scope a SOLID 9 Excellen Job!

got my dhq 6 inch about 2 years ago. finder is poor. replaced with an orion for 40 bucks. inner tube begginning to peel away but does not affect performance.
mount had one mis-aligned hole had to file off a bit to line up bolt.
mounts motions are fine in warm weather but stiffen in cold weather which is to be expected. i have seen alot with this scope. the dumbell nebula and ring nebula i reccommend light pollution filters. planets are very nice. can see jupiter's red spot no problem and the cassini division no problem. very crisp detail on moment's of good seeing. i'd say buy this scope, for the price you can't beat it and if you live in heavy light pollution areas you really don't want a larger scope that will attract alot of light pollution.

I am very happy with my Discovery DHQ 6" dob. The optics are great, and this scope gives very crisp, clear views of planets. Can see at least 3 bands on Jupiter on any night, more on clear nights. Can see rings of Saturn, Cassini division, and banding on Saturn. Easily can see 4 stars in the Trapezium, and with 17" Apogee erfle, Orion nebula is very bright, clear and gorgeous. Stars are pinpoint sharp and display their true colors in this scope. Was at a star party this week, and it definitely can hold its own with any scope out there. It was on par with other telescopes there that were much more expensive. This dob is a real bargain, and is a keeper. I recommend ordering it with the Telrad finder.

You could not have ordered a Discovery 'scope on E-Scopes. They carry much the same thing that Orion does, and the Murnagahn line up. Please, this is the best rating site on the net. Let's not start messing it up with nonsense.

Thanks!
