Digimon
Before I even get this review started, I want to say that I'm not going to be comparing Digimon to any other monster anime, or insulting other anime in the process... So, if you're looking for a review that's going to judge Digimon based only on Digimon, please read, and rate mine. Thank you. ^-^

Animation:: I gave the animation a 7, simply because it's not some increadibly beautiful, flowey, amazing style. It's simple, and effective. Some may give it a first glance, and dismiss it as second class animation, but the style grows on you quickly. Also, it (like so many others) tends to evolve over time. By the Tamer's season, you've got some pretty nice stuff going. Animation changes for the movies, and that throws you at first, but the character designs don't change, so you still know who is who, even if they look odd.

Plot:: Alright. I've seen all of the first season, most of 02, and most of Tamers. I've also only seen the dubbed version released for TV. So, bear with me, my descriptions of the plots might not be the truest to the original, but they're true to what I've seen.

First season, 01. You've got seven kids, they get sucked into this place called the Digital World while they're at summer camp, and they're given these little pager-looking things called Digi-vices. Each meets their Digimon partner, a cute little bouncing ball of innocence that completely freaks these kids out. Along the course of the show, the kids (called the "Digi-Destined", or "Chosen Children") discover that they are trapped in the Digital World, and travel around searching for a way home with their Digimon. These Digimon, with the help of the Digi-vices can Digivolve into stronger forms to defeat enemies that attack the kids. And so the first season goes, the kids and Digimon defeating enemies, and growing as a team.

Second season, 02. The original kids are back in the real world, and it's a few years afterwards. Now, two of the previous children team up with three new ones to battle with a Digimon Emperor (Kaizer) that threatens to take over the Digital World. They are at times aided by the old children, and can now move freely by computer between the Digital World and the real one. The Digimon are given new abilities, such as Armor Digivolving, and new attacks as well. It follows much the same plot as the first season, battling underlings, and then a main enemy.

Third season, Tamers. This season is all new, as if the first two hadn't existed. In this, Digimon is a card game, and TV program, and widely popular. The hero, Takato, is very obsessed with it, and spends his time playing and doodling Digimon. One day, he happens upon a blue card, swipes it into his electronic card reader used for playing the card game, and it transforms into a Digi-vice. (I forget exactly what they're called, but it's nearly the same as the Digi-vices of the first two seasons.) On that Digi-vice, he sees an egg, and it soon enough hatches into Guilmon, his Digimon partner. And so, our adventure begins. Now he is a real Digimon Tamer, and he gains other Tamer allies along the way. The plot follows signifigantly differently than the first two seasons, with nearly all the fighting taking place in a very normal real world.

Digimon: The Movie. Deals with the past of two of the first season characters, and new happenings and dangers that take place before, and during season two. Nothing save a couple surprising Digimon is from Digimon Tamers. As far as I can tell, a mishmash of several of the original Digimon movies.
Overall:: It's a monster anime, plain and simple. Monsters and humans, battling together to save the world. Not very original, but terribly endearing when coupled with unique and dynamic characters.

Humor:: There are some points when I can honestly tell that the humor has been changed from the original in order for it to get a lower rating and attract kids. Still, the humor is not entirely lost, and there are some very funny points throughout all three seasons.

Soundtrack:: The music in the dub is just... bad. I'm not going to lie about it, the opening theme and transformation music are repetitive and obnoxious. Especially when one has heard the original music intended. Which is quite good, by the way. The sole reason the score is as high as it is, is due to the amazing Japanese version music.

Overall:: A very good series, easy to get hooked on. Some anime fans might think it too childish, but it is still enjoyable. And the dubbed version is something the kids can watch without parents worrying. A great all ages anime.

Digimon
^_^ I loved it! (So do all my friends..^^;
I got them addicted.) *^__^* I love series
#1 & #2. (I don't really like series 3.^^;)
It has a better plot than pokemon. (Even if
it was made 4 years earlier...which I still
don't belive.^^;) The digimon actually can talk
and have an education. (unlike pokemon)I also
like the charcter development. (hehe...you have
to see the japanese version to get this more in
the #2 series.)

The only thing I really didn't like was the
edit & cutting in the 3 movies. (Digimon: the movie was originally
3 movies. ) Especially the one where Daisuke (Davis) was
crying in the third part. They totally ripped that off.
(probably because they still wanted Daisuke to seem dumb
or something.) I've seen the japanese version of that part
and even though there are no subtitles it's clearly odvious
that Daisuke (Davis.^^;..but I'm used to Daisuke) didn't just say, "That's such a sad
story" and recover in a snap. (you can see it at http://www.angelfire.com/mi3/taito/
beware of some sort of shonen ai comments though. )
Though I have to say that some of the movie had good animation.

All in all even though some of the editing and cutting was sort of bad
I still give this a 10!^_^ (oh yea, accually if you listen to the japanese
songs you'll accually think of putting a high score for them too.)

And to Digimon haters: esh..your not even supose to be here! esh.. if ya wanna
whine about it, go whine somewhere else please. *puppy eyes* pretty please!

Digimon
I can't believe at one time I actually was addicted to pokemon (pukemon as I call it now) and thought digimon sucked. I watched a few episodes of digimon and realized the following:
1) Digimon has a plot, Pokemon does not
2) All pokemon characters are clueless, digimon characters actually go to something called a school and are smart, in case you pukemon fans do not know what a school is, then you can look it up in an invention called a dictionary
3) Digimon has better detailed graphics than pukemon
4) In digimon, some of the names are original, while all pokemon names are copied off a word EX PIKAchu, BULBasaur, SQUIRTle
I am running out of time now but I will post more later.

Digimon
I know for a fact that many of the people who like digimon once watched pokemon. I also know that 99 out of 100 pokemon fans have never seen digimon.

In conclusion, many who like digimon have also seen pokemon
AND
many who like pokemon have never seen digimon, or never watched it long enough to form a real opinion.

Pokemon fans think:
It's so popular it must be good

Digimon fans think:
It's so cool it is good

The people defending digimon or pokemon with swears, insults, and vulgarity are just taking up space on this site and testifying to how brainless they really are.
