Description:I have a homemade 10f/9 planetary dob scope which was made by a well known mirror maker by dan Joyce from chicagi, illinois in 1992. He says it,s a 1/20wavefront with a 1/12 wave 1.25 diagonal that only has a 12% central obstruction. it has 5 internal baffles for contrast and a telrad with a Meade 8x50 finer. It has a 2inch crayford focuser with a built in fan behind the open mirror cell. The 92inch long 55 pound aluminum tube with a 75 pound baltic birch dob mount that provides rock steady control over the long tube. it gives me on some nights over 60x per inch are 600x on jupiter and satrurn with no image breakdown. I have subtle detail on ganymede at 650x and i saw the spokes in saturns, rings plus titan as shape as a disc not a starlike object. Awesome scope with killer optics for the planets. Will rival a 8 to 9inch apo-refracter on the planets. telescope8@hotmail.com
