Clave Plossl 30mm
I have a 30mm Clave (filter threaded). This type of eyepiece won't give you a large appearant field, but it's a definitive winner as far as contrast and sharpness is concerned. This should not be a surprise as Texereau designed all Clave eyepieces; ATMs know his standard of excellence. As a result this is a *true* Plössl eyepiece and perhaps the only one available on the market, unless you manage to find one made by Zeiss before WWII.

I used it on a friend's 10in f/6 Newtonian as such, or with x1.8 or x3 barlows along with a 35mm Panoptic, a 15mm TV Widefield and a 9mm Televue Plössl. The Panoptic wasn't quite as sharp, nor did it transmit as much light (but it has the field), the 15mm TV widefield was defeated on globular clusters against the 30mm Clave + x1.8 barlow, and the 9mm TV plössl was soundly trashed on the same objects when compared to the 30mm Clave + x3 barlow. If you find a 30mm Clave, buy it!

Clave Plossl 30mm
Wonderful eyepiece! Very good sharpness across the field of view, little scattered light, good color correction. The extended barrel precisely locates the observer's eye, making this the most comfortable eyepiece I own (just don't try to use it while wearing glasses). The eyepiece does not call attention to itself optically, which is high praise. The only downside is the lack of filter threads.
