Celestron Zoom 7mm-18mm

This review is for the Celestron Deluxe Zoom 6.5-18mm. This is an excellent quality zoom which is no longer produced but available sometimes on the used market for around $60-$80. It is very sharp in all of the range of focal length and has a good field of view for a zoom (not like looking through a soda straw like some zooms). I have compared it side-by-side with quality planetary eyepieces and the view is just as sharp and detailed if not more so. Works great in my C8 and C5 when atmospheric conditions permit higher magnifications. Considering the price compared to other high-end zooms, it is a phenomenal value! The FOV is about 40 to 60 degrees.
