Celestron Ultima 30mm
This eyepiece is very sharp. It gives crisp images over the entire field of my 8" f10 SCT. This eyepiece also gives the brightest edge I have ever seen. Many eyepieces tend to vignette near the field stop. There seems to be a slight dimming on many eyepieces. This eyepiece is not only sharp on edge, it has a bright edge also. It is easier to take in the entire field with this eyepiece, while looking at the center, than a standard 4 element plossl. You do not have to work as hard to get the view you want with this eyepiece. I can think of no way it could be improved. Perfect.

Celestron Ultima 30mm
This is one suberb eyepiece. Just picked one up from the Vancouver Telescope Center here in Canada.
First light was with my Skywatcher ED 80. A match made in heaven. Nice wide field with good contrast and nearly sharp to the edge. No blackout and very good eye relief. 20 power with a true field of 2.5 degrees in the ED80 with a 4mm exit pupil. Objects such as the Pleiades, Double Cluster and the Beehive were well framed with tight pinpoint stars and with good contrast. A keeper!

Celestron Ultima 30mm
After reading all the glowing reports on this form, I bought a 30mm Ultima. Well folks, hate to tell you but comparing my TV32mm side by side with the 30mm Ultima, The Televue EP is far superior in sharpness, light thruput, stop to stop correctness, contrast, etc. and so forth. The comparisons were done on a TV102 and a good 12.5" F5 Dob. I am an Ultima fan and have 3 other Ultimas so this EP leaves me very disapointed.

Celestron Ultima 30mm
This is the best low power true 1.25” eyepiece I’ve used. Views are very sharp and bright with excellent contrast. Perhaps because of the large lens, it feels like a much bigger eyepiece, but is actually pretty small and light. The stated AFOV is 52 degrees, but the eyepiece somehow produces a wider visual effect. In comparisons with the Meade 24.5mm Superwide, the Ultima provided brighter, clearer views that more than compensated for the Meade’s wider AFOV. Great value for the money.

Celestron Ultima 30mm
Sharp views through SCT 9.25". However, I have only one complaint and it's a big one: eye relief. It's simply too long, especially since I don't wear glasses. It's hard to hold head steady to get maximum view. Otherwise, it's sharp right to the edge. Great mid-price performer.

Celestron Ultima 30mm
This eyepiece is amazing! The eye relief is perfect and views are sharp all the way the edge. The stated field of view for this eyepiece is 50 degrees, but it seems much larger. I would guess that it is around 55 degrees. The fit and finish of this eyepiece are flawless and the coatings are excelent. Eyepieces don't get much better than this.

Celestron Ultima 30mm
One of the very best low power 1.25" oculars available and an excellent choice for those wanting relatively wide fields of view with the right amount of eye relief.

Celestron Ultima 30mm
Oh, I liked this one.
Contrasty, knife sharp and x-on eye relief.
But, when I compared the Ultima 30mm with the Nexstar 32mm on my short focus apocromat, I wasn't able to observe any great visual difference.
Maybe on a longer focal length scope I would have seen a gerater difference???
Anyhow, I ended up by buying the Nexstar at $48, and are quite happy with that.
