Celestron Ultima 18mm
Another excellent addition to my ep collection. Very sharp eyepiece with very good contrast with 13mm eye relief . Slight bit of field curvature but still quite sharp to the field stop. Very minimal lateral color and barlows very well with 2x and 3x barlows. Highly recommended!

Celestron Ultima 18mm
Virtully identical to the Antares and Orion version..same factory if I'm correct. Great eyepiece, more money than the Antares.

Celestron Ultima 18mm
Of all the Ultimas I own, the 18mm is the standout. It has more of that snap-to-focus than the others. The eye relief is also perfect for me: not too long or short. Great mid-price performer.

Celestron Ultima 18mm
This eyepiece is almost perfect. It will soften up on edge if used in an f/4 Newtonian, but that's about all I can see wrong with it, and at its price its highly forgiveable. I find the eye relief to be perfect for me, and it's very comfortable to look through for long periods of time. It gives a sharp Airy disc out to the field stop in an f/15 Mak-Cass or any good scope from f/8 or longer focal ratio. The edge softens up a bit in my f/6 refractor. Celestron dropped these EP's from their line, so grab any Ultima you want when you can find them.

This is my favorite eyepiece. I use an 8" SCT and this is my workhorse eyepiece.

Celestron Ultima 18mm
This is the eyepiece I reach for when viewing galaxies. I seach with my 32mm or 26mm, but once I find it I grab the Ultima to really see details and bring out contrast. This is on my 6" F8 dob. I love it!

Celestron Ultima 18mm
Excellent value, available for about $80. However, after having used premium eyepieces like Televue, I can't give Ultimas more than an 8. But they are truly great for the money.

A very good medium-power eyepiece (70x on my 8" f/6). Excellent clarity and contrast to edge of field, great light throughput and color. True FOV is a tad small because of small apparent FOV (the only real downside to all Ultima eyepieces). Unlike a 20 mm Nagler for example, it is not easy to use this eyepiece to "star hop" for objects unless you are prepared to wade through Mag 9.5 or better star charts to use those faint stars.

Resolution is very good, I can easily split 2" doubles with this eyepiece at 70x.
