Description: | The Firstscope 114 standard series features three models. Only a few accessories differentiate them.
Each is a high quality, economical telescope with a superb optical system housed in a glossy black metal tube. The equatorial mount is quite stable, with setting circles and slow motion controls on both axes for easy, smooth tracking. Strict adherence to Celestron's tough quality standards for manufacturing, assembly and testing ensures that each telescope performs well. The damping time and rigidity of this aluminum tripod match that offered by the wood tripod of the other Firstscope 114 models, allowing those who prefer a metal tripod that option, without sacrificing performance. In fact, you'll find this aluminum tripod is much sturdier than those offered on competitive models.
Model #31048's economical 1¼" Eyepieces include a 20mm H Eyepiece (45x), 4mm SR Eyepiece (225x) and 2x Barlow Lens.
Celestron Firstscope 114 Short This version of the 4½" Newtonian telescope offers more portability than the standard longer tube Newtonian. The short tube of this model is only 18" long.
The equatorial mount is quite stable, with setting circles and slow motion controls on both axes for easy, smooth tracking.
