Description: | The CM-1100 provides a significant 21% increase in light gathering ability over 10" telescopes, and 89% more than that of 8" telescopes.
Your expectations will be more than met by the visual and photographic performance of the CM-1100 telescope.
Both axes are driven by a 5.6" diameter, 180-tooth gear. The R.A. and DEC. assemblies incorporate pre-loaded bearings and the diameter of the laser engraved setting circles is 5.25". In addition, the CM-1100 features 1" solid centerless shafts in both axes. It also has ½" diameter precision worm gears for super accurate drive accuracy.
A 22 lb. counterweight comes standard with the CM-1100 telescope. When using heavier optional accessories, additional counterweights may be necessary.
The CM-1100 dual axis DC electronics are state-of-the-art. Four tracking rates are available: sidereal, King, lunar and solar. There are three setting rates: 8x, 16x and 20x. For precise guiding; there are two rates offered — .3x and .5x. The electronics have built-in, full feature PEC (periodic error correction). In addition, BC (backlash compensation) is available.
A cigarette lighter car battery adapter is included to obtain DC power from your automobile (or auxiliary battery). Further, the CM-1100 can become a computerized telescope with the simple addition of Celestron’s optional Advanced Astro Master®
