Celestron Adventurer 7x50
This will remain a Comment Only until I get to use these more. So far: great! I love these new binoculars! I compared them in the store to a number of other binoculars, including 7x50, 10x50, and 8x56 Enduros, 7x50 Watersports, 8x56 Ultimas, 7x35 and 8x40 Bird Watchers, and 8x40 and 10x50 Meade Infinitys. These ones were tied for second with the Watersports, just behind the Ultimas. But these Adventurers won out against the Watersports because of their MUCH lighter weight. The Enduros were fairly sharp, but color definition was not good. The Bird Watchers were terrible. The 7x35s must have been miscollimated or something, because despite their better coatings and prisms compared to the Enduros, they did much worse. Hard to achieve focus, and lots of purple flare on objects within the outer 20% of the field. Because of the over $100 savings over the Ultimas, I went with the Adventurers. I'll add nighttime reports and a rating once I get a chance.
