When I ordered a book from Buy.com, the availability was mentioned as 7-10 days. After placing this order, I got 3 emails telling me that they were still trying to find this book. This was a required textbook and my classes had begun but there was no book in sight. On enquiring, customer service reps did not have any idea as to the expected date of availability of this book. Frustrated, I decided to cancel this order and ordered the book from a better more organized website. On hitting the cancel button, I got a note saying that that was just a request for cancellation and that I would be notified within 7-10 days if the cancellation request was honored and that there was a possibility that the book might get ordered in the meantime and I might get charged for it. On calling Customer Service, they could not confirm the cancellation as well. They told me that I had 2 options at this point. I could either refuse the delivery (shippers just leave the book outside the door most of the time, as shipment arrives when I am at work) or I could go through the hassle of returning the book back to them which meant that I had to wait for 15 days to confirm the return to the warehouse and then wait another 15 days for reimbursement.

I have been ordering books on line for my classes for the last 4 years, and I don’t think there is a better example of a disorganized business as this. In this age of internet and web owned businesses, there should be no reason to wait 7-10 days to confirm shipment and 15 days to confirm cancellation. This is just a poorly managed company and I strongly discourage anyone who is trying to buy from this site.

To top it all, the customer service reps tell me that customer service is one of their virtues. If this is what you can expect from a company who claims to have such a virtue, then you can be assured that you can not expect much more.

I ordered about 3 titles from them. The last one was because I got a $10 coupon from them and didn't want to waste it. Their anime was the cheapest around but that's no longer true since they jacked up the prices. Plus I gotta pay 4 freakin bucks for the shipping of one stinkin title! What a rip! With every order it took them at least 6 weeks from them to diliver when it was supposed to take 1-2 weeks. Buy.com dvd service SUCKS BUTT CRACK!

It's definitely been too long for these assholes, since I still have not received my order. I spoke with the same useless supervisor who gave me the same lame excuse of confusion on their end. They wouldn't even ship my order overnight to make up for their multiple fuck-ups. I will never do business with these incompetent dolts again, and now they've raised their prices a few dollars a title, so they have absolutely no saving grace. I'll now give them a 0 rating, 'cause I am that much of a dick now.

Customer service is paramount!!! After a full week of placing my order online, they sent an email saying that they were in the process of putting together my order from various sources. Every DVD I ordered was allegedly in stock, but they didn't mention that it was in stock at the distributor's end. I'd give them a zero rating, but their prices are decent and I'm not that much of a dick.

Drawbacks were:

Sales tax for California (still had lowest price with this included)
Lame product descriptions
