Bushnell 78-2061
This little 60mm refractor was picked up on sale as a possible "poor man's Pronto". Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that the 20-60x zoom eyepiece had no eye relief, a very narrow field of view, and could not be used with a 90 degree diagonal. Basically, the scope is useless for astronomy. I ripped out the 60mm object and put it into a Scotch cannister, attached the 2 inch plastic focuser from my Meade Starfinder and mounted on an Orion EQ-2 mount. NOW it works! The object is quite good, false colour is well controlled, and it takes power pretty well (used it up to 65x) with my Tele Vue 3x Barlow and a Meade Series 4000 Plossl. Now, it's my grab and go scope.
